Database Solutions

Government Website  Procurement System and Public Service

Database-to-Web integration is a critical component of providing public and other agencies an invaluable service - delivering relevant, timely and dynamic information. Whether you're delivering an on-line shopping cart or sharing information through an Intranet or Extranet.

RESOURCE DIRECTORY FOR Government Agencies

The Project

The task is to create a database directory of government employees and their products. The main challenge was building a database to manage the large amount of detailed information and publishing an easy-to-use directory from the database.

The Solution

It emailed or faxed each contact with their login identification. It sent each member a "form kit" to help them gather their name, contact-department, product- details. Then built a database to store the information, and assisted members with adding or changing their own product  listings over the internet. Members could also upload their own forms. We created a searchable web version of the directory and an extensive static version for CD-ROM.

The Services Provided
Automated Data collection
Database management
Desktop publishing
CD-ROM production
Web site creation

DOCUMENT CONTROL DATABASE

The Project

To publish an existing document control database to the Web while also adding significant upgrades and changes. The database, an Intranet-accessed system, was designed to help a series of reviewers audit and track other department's auditing to technical papers. The new on-line system helps speed the review process, ensure consistency, and maintain privacy of restricted information.

The Solution

To create a completely automated system, integrated the database to Web formats. programmed the system to upload files and automatically send e-mail updates to the agency concerned  and all reviewers to track the review process from start to finish. Then set up a secure server for proprietary documents and continue to maintain and upgrade the document management system.

The Services Provided
Database building
Database management
Cold Fusion programming

CO-OP ADVERTISING WEB SITE

The Project

It needed an interactive Web site to make it easier for the agencies to develop co-op advertising. It would be able to "build" advertisements by retrieving images and text from a database linked to the site. The site needed to be secure and protected by password and the database needed to allow users to easily search through a large number of products, graphis, multimedia, especially made for the government and product announcement material.  This will save the government a hefty sum of appropriations and can diverted to more useful undertaking.

The Solution

Web programmers created a "shopping cart" application that allows agencies to visit the site, download images, add clip art and graphics and even order slides to create their own digital artwork for ads and other materials. It used algorithms to efficiently manipulate the huge amounts of data in the site, forming dynamic columns for an easy-to-read display.

The Services Provided
Database architecture
Custom programming
Web site creation
Digital Archive

All of the above applications can be customized thru Web design and applications manipulation.  It can be applied to Government procurement system where government purchaser can advise suppliers of the coming bid.  or simply do shopcart shopping on supplier's website, who were previously certified as legitimate supplier to the government.   The Depatment of Audit are behind the firewall, intercepting and logging the transaction made for the day and applying the required plus or minus approriations specifically for that agency.

Digital Archive

The Digital Document Archive Writer, rapidly converts digital documents to an analog format and media for low-cost, long-term storage and access as part of the Digital Document Archive System.

The Document Archive Writer and supporting software accepts document images from many digital imaging systems in Tagged Image File Format (TIFF). You can organize them according to your requirements, create an index, and write the images to film. Now you can purge inactive information from expensive on-line and near-line storage with full assurance that you'll be able to retrieve and view it long into the future.

The Document Archive Writer accepts TIFF digital document images and converts them to analog images on 16 mm silver halide-based film in excess of 100 letter size or A-4 images per minute at 40:1 reduction. Up to 18,000 letter-size images at 40:1 reduction will fit on a single roll of film for storage that's extremely compact.

DOCUMENT ARCHIVE WRITER CAPABILITIES.

connects via Ethernet
appears as drive on system for easy integration
accepts bi-tonal TIFF image files; uncompressed or compressed to support flexible input
accepts image resolutions from 100 to 600 dpi
scales images automatically from 20:1 to 60:1 reduction to readily match your image application format requirements
adds image-mark coding to film to support rapid, automated retrieval
writes in simplex or duplex (front/back) formats
writes to one or two rolls of film for optional backup and security

ASSOCIATED COMPONENTS:

Digital Archive Writer Interface Software resides on a host workstation. It efficiently manages the image formatting and indexing.

Archive Storage Media is a 16 mm microfilm specially optimized for the Document Archive Writer. The standard 215-foot roll length provides uninterrupted and unattended writing session. The Archive Storage Media provides AIIM/ANSI compliant image storage that meets archival standards at a very low cost. Stored images can be accessed by automated retrieval devices, including the Imagelink Digital Workstation, and scanned for electronic delivery back to your digital document system.
